  • A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique digital asset made from any digital file, such as animated art, a photo, gif, meme, digital sports card, video, or song.

    The process of minting an NFT to a blockchain ensures a permanent record of the asset’s history and validity, guaranteeing that there will only be a set number of each NFT in existence. In other words, once an NFT is sold out, more cannot be produced. For this reason, NFTs are verifiably scarce by design and, therefore, sought after and valuable.

    The concept of selling virtual goods actually isn’t new - video games companies have been doing it at a massive scale for years!       We’ve been doing this since 2018, so a lot of the mistakes that newer companies are making, we made a long time ago. We launched NFTs inside the Coachella app in 2019. The following year, we launched NFTs with Niall Horan of One Direction. In 2020 alone, we issued over 200,000 NFTs to fans!
      Our system has been stress tested for years to ensure it can deliver a seamless fan experience at the largest scales imaginable.

      We use credit/debit card transactions to ensure a smooth and effortless checkout process. It takes about 60 seconds to purchase an NFT on our site, and since we use a managed wallet system, users don’t have to install a complicated crypto-wallet.

    3. We’re here for the real fans.
      Our motto has always been to engage with and reward fans. NFTs can not only provide a new revenue stream, but our tech can also issue free and earned NFTs to gamify the experience and educate users before selling to them.

  • Not ours! Fanaply has been dedicated to protecting the environment since our inception and currently employs a three-pronged strategy to maintain our carbon neutrality:

    Many of our NFTs are minted to a proof-of-stake blockchain (e.g., Polygon) that does not rely on computational power and, as a result, is completely ecologically responsible.

    When we mint to a proof-of-work blockchain (e.g., Ethereum), our proprietary managed-wallet system uses the blockchain for only critical processes, eliminating the majority of traffic normally sent to the blockchain, thus reducing gas fees and energy consumption.

    To counteract any residual emissions ensuing from our activity on the blockchain, we’ve partnered with Offsetra, a pro-climate company that helps businesses, blockchains, and crypto platforms assess and compensate for their environmental impact. This partnership ensures our entire NFT operation is 100% carbon neutral.
